Change...

I like my new background, maybe it'll motivate me to post here more often!

I'm trying to make some changes for the new year - save money, move (again!), eat better, get creative with my hair, etc. One kinda cool thing is that I want to learn some domestic things that I either never knew before (how to cook) or haven't done in so long I forgot how (operate a sewing machine)...so I'll chronicle some of that here.

One step...

those seven letters have a lot of meaning right now :headnod:, for a few reasons...

As I step into this new year of 2010, I've got some goals I'd like to reach and check off my list before this year comes to a close.

- One step of many will be logged as I train for and complete my first half marathon in the coming months! As insignificant as one step may seem; one step can be the difference between finishing and being disqualified for time reasons, one wrong step could mean injury to myself or others around me, etc. I will definitely share my journey towards that "one step" across the finish line here - so stay tuned!

- "One step beyond our fears": Kevin spoke on this in last Sunday's sermon, and it really hit me that I'm living like that in A TON of areas of my life. I figured I should blog about it, but conveniently "never got around to it". Then in reading a post from the blog of a friend from elementary school I was reminded that there are wonderful things on the "other side of that door", but I'm stuck on this side wondering "what if?" So this year my only resolution is to "shake myself loose" and stop being paralyzed by fear of the unknown!

What's the name of this blog again? Oh yeah...2 Blessed 2 Be Bound, and I'm determined to walk that out this year! Life isn't worth living if I'm living it gripped in fear and bondage (if you can even call that living). So in this blessed year won't you join me?

Wooooow!

It's been a LOOOOOOONNNNGGGG time since I posted here, yikes! Ummm, quick recap of the last 16 months -

Found out we were expecting our first child!

Got (good) jobs!

Had aforementioned child!

Moved to a bigger apartment!

I think that's the basics, LOL!

Our little miracle is a 7 month old by the name of "Faith", she's MORE than we ever dreamed we'd be blessed with!

I've got to get back to blogging, getting out of debt, getting healthy...all that good stuff! It's a bit harder to do with a kidlet though, but as the title says I'm 2blessed 2 be bound!

WOW!

Oooookay, it's been a whole year since I've blogged, that's an awful long time! So much has happened, but ummmm, a quick recap is all that's necessary.

I'm writing from a new location - Birmingham, Alabama! Mac and I moved here just last week, hoping for new beginnings and all that God has for us! We just celebrated our 5 year anniversary and as much as we've learned and grown (too much) during this time, we believe that the next 5 years will be even better! I'm reminded of the song we chose to walk back up the aisle to at our wedding - Donald Lawrence and the Tri City Singers "The Best is Yet To Come". Even thought moving meant leaving all that was comfortable - what we knew and loved, our jobs, our family (Mac's side), our church family (shout out to POGM)...we stepped out on faith and have come this far (700+ miles)...sigh. We're looking forward to meeting new people, starting great jobs, finding a new church home and enjoying life!

As bored as I am waiting for call backs, I'll be posting more regularly. It's also pretty hot down here so we both hope to lose some pounds and get healthy...we're getting up there in age, LOL! Talk laterz...

And it's gone!!!

Yes, the huge picture of the Honda Civic is no longer here...why do you ask?

Because it's gone! Yayyyy! I traded it in for a 98 Nissan Maxima in mint condition! Hallelujah, no more lease! No more 12K miles a year!

Now on to bigger things...Mac and I had an appointment with a financial manager on last week! It was great! She and her partner (I think they are related, possibly brother and sister) are both Dave Ramsey followers and debt free! She's a retired CPA (she's good at numbers) and he's a real estate agent (very Dave like)! Vicki helped us with our budget, critiqued it and sent us on our merry way! I'll definitely keep y'all in the loop with updates!

Want to give a shout-out to my MTMMO (My Total Money Makover) buddies! I gotta add that "roll call" thing to my blog so those that mosey to my spot can also mosey to yours. Thanks for the encouragement and the suggestions for my blog!

Magnificent Monday bloggings...

Hallelujah! You know that's the highest praise, right? Just checking...

But yeah, the sun is shining today but it's raining...I don't think the devil has a wife but it doesn't matter anyway! I've gotten some calls about the beautiful vehicle that I have for sale - cool beans! I'm not stressing that either of them "happen", I'm at peace that I'm going to be okay whether or not my car sells on my timeline. I thank God for the daily bread that He supplies me - no strings attached! I'm quite sure that the hardest part of receiving this is using it the correct way...

Perfect segway into budgeting! I'm a listener of Dave Ramsey, a talk show host, author (the list goes on), who has a proven method of getting out of debt! I'm sure this sounds like some fly by night get rich quick scheme - but it's not, and that's the beauty of it! Dave's system is that you live off less than you earn, pay your bills, don't get into more debt and save for retirement. There are no gimmicks, just discipline! You don't have to sign people up that have to sign people up, but you can definitely share what you are doing with others (that's what I'm doing right now). I love it, and am seeking some Financial Peace in my life! When I figure out how all this stuff works I'll have some links up here as well as the info for if you'd like to read his book.

What in the world?

Yes, I am random. But of course there is a method to my madness. The reason for my current blog picture is because that is the current object of my affection. This is my 2005 Honda Civic LX that is currently for sale. It's mechanically sound and a wonderful vehicle, but my tastes have changed in the 2.5 years I've been leasing it (I'll definitely never get into a contract that long again)! I've got until January (when my lease is up) to turn it back in to Honda, but I know someone out there is checking it out and would love to drive it! Be sure to contact me if you are interested...
